About This Spot

Stepping into Fuji Sushi and Teppanyaki feels like entering a spacious, welcoming haven where the art of Japanese cuisine unfolds amid warm laughter and the sizzle of hot griddles. Located comfortably off the usual tourist paths in Aiea, its inviting ambience balances the lively energy of a teppanyaki grill with the quiet attentiveness of an intimate neighborhood table. Whether it’s the hypnotic flicker of flames or the friendly exchange with servers who genuinely seem to enjoy the craft of hospitality, the pace here invites conversation without rush.

The restaurant’s open layout makes room for gatherings of all sizes, from solo visits to large family dinners, with views that nod gently to the lush Hawaii surroundings. Guests might find themselves sharing a hibachi table, where the chefs not only cook but orchestrate a subtle show of skill and play — encounters that turn a meal into a shared moment of delight.

Culinary offerings stretch beyond the expected, with each plate reflecting the care behind the kitchen’s door. Crisp fried oysters, flavorful teriyaki chicken, and sushi rolls with a creative edge suggest an enthusiasm for both tradition and innovation. Meanwhile, the selection of mochi ice cream and tempura desserts offers sweet notes to close the experience softly. Drinks like the Strawberry Margarita or the Lemon Drop Martini add a lively touch without overpowering the serene environment.

Here, the food is more than sustenance—it's a way to slow down and enjoy a carefully crafted balance of texture, flavor, and presentation. The staff’s considerate service, paired with the chefs' engaging presence, helps anchor Fuji Sushi and Teppanyaki as a spot where locals and visitors alike feel less like customers and more like invited guests sharing in a quietly festive tradition.

The food here is great! Very friendly staff and we were fortunate to share a table with someone who was celebrating her birthday. It was mesmerizing to watch how our food was prepared by chef Eddie, who was very good at his little fire show. The restaurant is very spacious and super clean! Highly recommended! Thank you for such a wonderful lunch!

Sashimi is always fresh, the Bento meals are delicious and the service was extraordinary.

We had a fun delicious meal here. It was a Sunday family dinner. The restaurant itself is very inviting and cozy, and the view over the watercress field is nice. Our hibachi chef was pretty funny and made a nice spectacle of fire, flying food, and other shenanigans. Service was good as well! We were lucky that they couldn't server alcohol yet, so I made a quick run to Tamura's nearby and got a 6 pack. I think by now they must serve their own alcohol. Check this place out, it's a great place for an experience dinner and the food is delicious!

Went for lunch. Nice price lunch special. I always order fried calamari for appetizer. I prefer flour over panko breading for calamari. Thought it was over cooked. Fried oysters was good. Anything we ordered deep fried seemed to be over cooked. Order a 2 choice lunch special. They forgot my shumai for my plate but added 2 for the person I was with so had one for their. Ordered a Liquid Marijuana for a specialty drink. Couldn't taste the alcohol... had more ice than anything. Would go there again to try their sashimi

Excellent server & chef. Teppanyaki is excellent & prices are not bad at all. Come in early around 4-6pm for the happy hour. It'll be worth it! Atmosphere is nice & parking is accessible.
